Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut, deshalb mein nachricht in English

Just bought a Dynacord B80 cabinet to match my Dynacord Bass King. Now this B80 needs some restauration. I have some questions. Maybe one of this forums members can provide me with some answers.

1. The pic is from the bottom side of the B80. It has some vents. Are these vents original?
2. I can't find a place where I can connect a speakercable. How you connect the cabinet to the amp?  (I had one in the late sixties/early seventies, but I just forgot how it was connected)
3. Was the B80 factory-equipped with damping material?

Thanks ??? ???

Hi!

I don't know too much about that old Dynacord stuff, but had a look at www.el-me-se.de. They say, the B80 ist closed and damped. Your cab looks like my B100; are you sure to have a B80?

Anyway, I don't know how to connect a Bassking, but Kings are connected via the screws. King and Echoking have the same width as the cab and can be bolted on, so that the combination just looks like a combo; no cable needed.

Cheers

Well, the logo says B80, the identification plate also. I found out the information on www.el-me-se.de is not always correct. Some model changes are not included. As you see this cab needs some restauration.

So, here we have a B80. No doubt. You may be right, el-me-se isn't complete, at least. My King and B100 don't fit in the description there. I persume, my King is a model "in between" and the cab is a very, very early one. Maybe your B80 is a late one and might be an early B100, though.

Restauration is exactly, what my Dynacords need, but it's hard to find the right materials. I decided to leave them just as they are. Time has left some marks on them and on me too ;-) I like the fact, that my cab is as old as me, and the King ist as old as my Queen. We all wear some scars ...

Back to your problem: on top of your cab, two holes can be seen. That's where the screws go in, which connect the amp with the cab. Strange kind of engineering ...

I own a B80 in very good condition and complete. On your picture I see a top board missing, which has slots applied to accept an early Bassking's or Eminent EMT's rubber feet giving this set a solid combination. The original cable is guarded through a vent hole and plugged directly into the amplifier. I can take fotos if this will be helpful for you.
