Git-Amp mit 2 x EL84?

Hi,
nachdem ich meinen dritten Amp fertig habe, will ich nach den SEs mal ein Gegentaktprojekt angehen. Ob Combo oder Top + Box weiß ich noch nicht. Ich habe hier aber etwas Material rumliegen, EL84 in ausreichender Anzahl und 2 gebrauchte Tubeland-AÜs mit (HiFi Ultralinear Gegentakt Übertrager für Endstufen mit 2 x EL 84 Raa = 8K Mit G2 Anzapfung Kern M74, 8 Ohm sekundär).
Ich will gerne mal einen Amp mit Zerre bauen.
Soundmäßg darf es gerne grob in Richtung der Band Selig (dort wird ein VOX AC30 genutzt) gehen.
Kennt jemand einen guten Amp bzw eine gute Vorlage zum Nachbau? Der klassische Marschall 18-Watter trifft die obige Vorstellung ja nicht - soweit ich das verstanden habe. Und aus den VOX-Schaltplänen konnte ich nicht erkennen, ob ich den AÜ nutzen kann. Oder ist der AÜ hier nicht zielführend (weil er zu linear überträgt)?
Und: Tremolo will ich nicht.
Bin dankbar für Anregungen!

Hallo Jörg,

was meinst Du mit "Amp mit Zerre"? Der 18W Marshall ist bekannt für seine Zerre im vollaufgedrehtem Zustand.

Wenn es in Richtung AC30 gehen soll, dann kannst Du diese Vorstufe nehmen - sie kommt mit nur geringen Abwandlungen im Matchless Lightning, TopHat Club Deluxe oder King Royale oder im Dr. Z Maz Jr. vor. Aus dieser Vorstufe gibt es mehr Zerre als beim 18W, der ja nur eine Gainstufe hat.

Mehr Vorstufenzerre gibt es, wenn Du eine Gainstufe mit einer Pentode bestückst (siehe mein Bauprojekt HoSo56). Als Klangregelung könnte man hier auch die Vox-Regelung verwenden.

Der AÜ sollte für Dein Vorhaben gut nutzbar sein. Wenn Du die Schirmgitteranzapfungen nicht nutzen willst, kannst Du sie einfach isolieren.

gut, dann wird der AÜ nicht das Thema sein.
Mit Zerre meinte ich einen entsprechenden Kanal, nicht die Endstufenverzerrung. Daher fällt der klassische Marshall für mich aus.
Attraktiv finde ich z.B. den BadCat Black Cat15 (http://www.badcatamps.com/black-cat-15.html). Warum?
- Eigener Overdrive-Kanal (hab ich noch nicht gemacht)
- Spezielle Klangregelung (würd ich gerne mal probieren)
- EF86 (hab ich noch nicht gebaut)
- Reverb (noch nicht gemacht und würde ich nutzen - im Gegensatz zum Tremolo).
- 2 xEL84 Gegentakt (hab ich noch nicht gebaut und habe Teile dazu)
Es muß nicht der Black Cat 15 sein. Da bin ich nicht festgelegt. Dieser Amp würde aber ganz gut meine Anforderungen treffen.

Bisher habe ich einen TT66, eine VibroChamp und einem Hifi-Amp (KT88SE) gebaut. Die Gitarrenamps sind sehr gut dokumentierte Projekte, die KT88 ist technisch auch überschaubar. Ich möchte mich also jetzt an ein größeres Projekt wagen. Statt Reverb würde es auch ein Effektweg tun. Da geht es mir eher darum, was Sinnvolles zu bauen und dabei zu lernen. Zu komplex sollte es deshalb auch nicht ein.

Although the Ra-a is on the high side for a pair of EL-84´s it will certainly work.

In my experience when you mention UL lots of builder will come running and state that it´s a no-no. Well i beg to differ. It´s just that for an UL hooked amp you need to refocus your thinking and approach a little bit.

I presume we´re talking cathode bias here?
In that case..why not install a switch for the UL setup at the rear? One direction it´s UL the other puts a pair of 25-50V zeners into the deal vs g2. Zeners work really well in this application and what it brings for lower wattage amps is amps that will take going wide open throttle as far as volume -at end.
We can get into why if you wish,but that´s at least the practical end of it.

The EF-86 in turn is a formidable tube in my opinion. I use it every so often in my own builds,and i build amps as a part time living.
In fact i just modded the living crap out of an old -63 vintage Hohner MH-25 which i made two channel. One EF-86 channel and one regular ECC-83

Admitted with the clarity of a P90 equipped guitar in this clip but it at least gives you an idea.
Word of advice as far as EF-86 tubes. Always suspend the socket by some means. The idea here is that you want to avoid metal to metal contact between the actual socket and the chassis as vibrations spells death to EF-86 tubes and makes them microphonic in a hurry.

Twin channel in turn,which i understand is a viable option in your case,is easy enough. If you lack taps on the powertransformer just pick up a small lab card and a PCB trafo,rectifier and a massive e-lyte of 25V. Done.
