Hilfe bei Naylor Superdrive Modifikation / Umbau

<< < (3/7) > >>

John G:
Hi again,
I should have elaborated a little further re the schemo  I posted, in that the partial reverse was from a Marshall amp I had if for repair about 10 years ago that had been modified.
I was told that it was possibly modded by either Friedman or Dan Gower ???? I was already familiar with the super overdrive 60  so I morphed the two because they were very similar topologies.
I believe that the output section was standard Marshall ?? could be wrong ?? too long ago.

darkbluemurder:
Thanks for posting. Yes, the "Naked" supposedly was Dave Friedman's take on the SD 60 circuit.

Cheers Stephan

John G:
Hi,
I have found my original schematic I made. Note that I omitted the 50pF from the schemo posted earlier, ie between the anodes of the phase splitter.
As you can see the amp had a basic clean ch, and I don't know if I have the relay contacts right with the 22nF over the 1 meg resistor after the treble control ???

Hi John and thanks for these schematics.

Yours are pretty similar to those that can be found on photobucket by petey the pitbull.
Also they are indeed very similar to the Naylor SD-60, and if the internet is right (as always), Friedman actually copied the SD 60 for his Naked Amp with a few alterations.

To come to an end with this (at least for me):
I attached a schem of what I have/had built up for testing purposes.
I tested it during a band practice and several times just playing for myself but at high volume levels.
I found that the tightness is missing for some of the palm muting riffs I usually play in my music.
What I mentioned earlier here, that this circuit doesn't change its character as much on higher volumes as many other tube amps, I cannot confirm what I found a few weeks ago. Don't know why I had that impression.

Nevertheless the circuit sounds pretty good for many styles in rock.
BTW.:
The reverse log presence 1k pot was -for most of the time - on maybe 7-8.5 of 10.
