Hi reverbus,

a attach the preamp schematic with marked area by a red circle.
There are two capacitors without values.
Being the values unreadable?

Thanks again for your efforts.

regards, Manfred

Hi Manfred,

oh, I see, values are missing.
I'll take a look if I can find notes and will let you know.

The two capacitors are ceramic discs, see edited scan attached here:
(I can't swap attached scans in my first post. If moderator is able to do it, please)

Hi Iztok,

thank you very much for adding the values.

In the original schematic V1a and V1b are constant current diodes applied for biasing,
in your schematic are 1,5kOhm resistors for each instead of both.
Did you substitute the constant current source diodes for resistors?

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

yes, there were diodes, as original design.
This, I agree, must be said, to have/keep accurate schematic of this KH Standard amp.

As far as I remember (2011), I was not able to read values, so I put bias resistors in there.

It wasn't my amp, a friend of mine gave it to me to do the job.
Later on, this Standard was sold to Germany somewhere.
It is very nice sounding combo, among the best I did play in this range.

A friend of mine still have 7 or 8 Kitty Hawks, but no Standard.
There are mostly Counterpoints, then also Junior (+Junior Pro), The Kid, modded Supreme, Quattro preamp...

I have Supreme II head (6xEl34), I kept original clean channel + I modded drive to Trainwreck Express.
It really is a beast, but needs some attention for fine tunning.

Regards,
Iztok

Robinrockt & Mr.Lime,
you're welcome  :)

Hopefully it will help somebody, although care must be taken.
I did triplecheck everything during drawing but an error or mistake may be hidden somewhere.
It's always welcome if additional pair of eyes do take a look at.

Regards,
Iztok

Hi Iztok,

the diodes were CR180 current regulator diodes, have a look at the attachment.
Never mind, the amp is away.
I got two Kittyhawks too, a Junior Series 1 and a Junior Pro.
Both are not working at the moment, I hope to fix each over the year.

Regards
Manfred
