Hallo!

http://www.buhev.de/2002/12/friseur-reisegewerbe.html

Hmmm - hast Du Dich schon mal vom Friseur nass rasieren lassen?

Its about a legal problem in krautland:
if you don't have the correct education with a piece of paper and you are not hooked to a medivial institution (which you have to pay) you are not allowed to build amps or even put a ground into a house or cut other people's hair.

We're really progressive here, huh?

Of course amps aren't toys by any means and safety is a problem - thats the other side . . . .

holy crap! that sucks big time!
safety is a problem, but as long as you know what you're doing and don't just "jump into it" ... it's ok I guess? I like figuring stuff out...also this soldano...though it kinda still scares the shit out of me :D I mean what If spend 700 euro's on an amp that (in the end) doesn't work? -_-'

its exciting though ^^ and there are a lot of people here to ask questions and a lot of pictures to compare the shit you are doing, electric schemes, layout-plans...lots and lots of stuff...

Hallo Tubenewbie,

Martin

Maybe an SLO-100 isn't the right amp to start out with. It is, um, complicated. And the high-gain stuff is touchy.

Klar.. Ah, ich arbeite zu viel ich Chaot. Tut mir leid :-[

to late man ;) there's no way back!

My goal is to finish it by the end of august :) that gives more than enough time to figure out everything I guess. Time enough to check and dubble check. Not to mention LEARN a lot about amps. I have a masters degree in industrial engineering...I know basic electronics and I know that if I don't (like I said before) JUMP into this, but do everything step by step learning before doing...I can pull this off...

armed with patience and the cooperation of some of the people on this forum...I can do this I figure

and it's not like I'm gonna build a practice-amp...I need a good tubeamp to play gig's with...not some...15W head I'll never ever use...I can risk to trow away money with this project if I f**k shit up...but I'm sure as hell not going to trow away my money volunterally on practice-stuff

crazy legal mathers there btw...I don't understand all of it cause my german is ... horrible...but if I read it out loud I understand about half of it. I don't even know what the restrictions in belgium are concerning building amps and stuff...but I think that if it's not for commercial purposes...you're clear to do it?
