Hi im resurrecting an old thread... i have a Dynacord Reference 500 that runs 719V on the anodes. Is that normal? I know EL34 can take up to 800V but it seems really high... anybody csn confirm?

Hi Marco,
the 2nd schematic above states 675V, so your 719 seem plausible given the unit was designed with 220V Mains voltage in mind and you should nowadays have somewhere around 230 from your outlets
cheers,
Stefan

Thank you very much for your answer Stefan! Do you have any experience with this particular model? Suddenly the volume dropped a lot and the volume control and tone controls dont work anymore. Only the master volume, but at a very reduced volume. I tried swapping both preamp and power tubes but no change...

Hi Marco,
Last I had one of them on my workbench must have been more than a decade ago, with the usual issues: leaking caps and drifted resistors, so i can´t be of much help with your particular problem.
Best to start with the usual suspects, resolder all over and check the component values if they are still within specs.
cheers,
Stefan

P.S.: Feierabendklampfer has reworked a Reference a while back and documented a lot of his journey:
