Titel: rebuilt of an EMMA
Beitrag von: sesame am 12.11.2014 19:49
HI !
I bought an EMMA kit last year but I lacked experience and couldn't build it properly.
So I gave up and built other projects.
Now that I've gained experience, I'd like to rebuild this amp.

All the hardware is ok, and I'd like to buy the components only.

Here are my questions :

- all the resistors are rated 1W, right ? (except for the PSU)
- the electrolytic caps (C1 & C6) are rated 100V ? I can't read the value.
- what is the gauge of the hookup wire ? .5mm2 ?
- the first fuse (in the power socket ) is 500mA, I presume it is a slow blow ?
- the second fuse (after the power transformer) is 100m1 slow blow, right ?

Sorry if my questions have already been answered, but my German is so poor that I couldn't find the answers on the web.

Sincerely

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,
Welcome to the forum!
Neither have i built an emma yet, nor have i found a parts list. But looking at the pics on the project page (https://www.tube-town.net/cms/?DIY/LoW-Projekte
/Emma_%28engl%29),
it looks like Dirk used "Metal Oxide 1 Watt" on the main board and "Metal Oxide 2 Watt" on the PSU board.
Best, Martin

Hi Nicolas,

C1&C6 are Cathode R Bypass Caps so normally 25Vdc Version should do the trick as they only see approx 2Vdc to Ground.
For the Fuses SloBlo should be ok as well, Martin already answered the Resistor Questions and for the hookup wire you should be ok with a .5mm˛...

cheers
