*** SOUND ***

Let's put it like this: amp reverbs can usually give a nice whoosh & also a pretty deep enough reverb,
and say a maxed reverb of a Twin Reverb can make things pretty metallic as well.
 
... but they don't seem to 'transform' the sound as much as the standalone Fender Reverb Unit can, up to making it a very nasty (but pleasing) metallic beast.
Even when using the Boss FRV-1 emulation of the Fender I could get sounds for which I expected to need to add a fuzz
(say Spaghetti-sounds) so that's the thing I was wondering about for the nice two-tube circuit.

*** TX-SPECS ***

That's good to hear, so for the NSC022921 transformer the 'economical type' (14k5 primary) is suited.

When I'll go for this schematic, I need to buy a TX anyway, so - as I initially thought - might consider going for the somewhat more expensive Hammond (22k primary),
which may (for half an ECC81) have a better adaptation, as indicated by dukesupersurf here above in this thread.

That's still true, BUT I realize that the differences between these types is misleading, since they _both_ have about the same turns-ratio.
14k5 prim / 4 sec is the 'same' (ratio) as 22k8 prim / 8 sec.

So both types are suited, and in addition to that one could consider to compensate for using half a ECC81 by doubling the input-impedance of the tank...
(8 Ohm), resulting in a 22k8 prim as seem by the ECC81 half.


*** NERDY-DETAILS ***

Ha & oops, then we're _still_ missing a factor or TWO, since the original 'Fender situation'
uses a full ECC81, the 22k8prim-8sec TX _and_ a reverb-tank with 8 Ohms input load.
So if we wish to compenate for using half a ECC81 as the driver, we'd need to find a tank with 16 Ohm input.
Or add a 8R2 resistor in series... or simply don't worry... ;-)

The TwoTubeReverb can do this in a similar way. I quickly recorded some examples, including clipping smartphone mic, sorry for this. But I think it will give you a basic idea.

Hi,

in my other amps I use a similar circuit, but with the two systems of the 12at7 to drive the pan. This gives a more powerful reverb, closer to the 6G15. More or less the original 6G15 with the driver circuit of the AB763.
